The MISP two-day intensive course is a very complete course with an internationally approved curriculum shared by all MISP Trainers.  This includes learning the unique MISP massage routine, child development, scientific knowledge, as well as the basis for bringing the idea of touch and movement for learning into all schools subjects.

With the two-day course every instructor receives a very comprehensive workbook that becomes a basic tool for the succcessful implementation of the programme.

Once the course has been completed successfully, the participant is given the MISP Instructor Certificate, allowing the implementation of the MISP programme within classrooms in the presence of children, and within communities with children and their parents.

The MISP intensive course is offered in several locations around the world  If no training is offered in your area or country, please contact us and we will make sure a training gets organised in your country.

ProfileAnna-Michele is an enthusiastic advocate of the Massage in Schools Programme (MISP), having worked in and around schools, childcare settings and family services for most of her 30 year career. She has extensive experience in teaching and educational advisory services, child protection and arts therapies for groups and individuals.

Anna-Michele is convinced MISP is one of the best approaches to fostering emotional literacy that she has come across!

In 1994, she established an international consultancy service to promote ‘Emotional Education through the Arts’. Aiming to support children, young people, and their carers to creatively and safely manage ‘everyday feelings’, the MISP was a natural extension of this.

As an Anti Bullying Officer for a local authority in the UK, Anna-Michele successfully introduced MISP in 2007 as a preventative approach to bullying, in primary schools and parent groups. By utilizing ‘Draw and Write’ research, the project showed significant reductions in classroom disruption and playground fallouts, whilst improving calm, connection and concentration amongst pupils, and family members. Teachers, parents and pupils have wholeheartedly adopted MISP as an integral part of the school day despite pressure on time, quite simply, because it works, and they love it!

Anna-Michele is a qualified Early Years Teacher from New Zealand, Integrative Arts Psychotherapist and registered in the UK as a Therapeutic Child Counselor, Accredited Quality Circle Time trainer and is a regular presenter at the Centre for Child Mental Health, London. Her trainings are renown for being fun and practical on one hand, informative and inspirational on the other. She has recently published her first book, ‘How to Nurture and Enhance Children’s Emotional Development’.

Anna-Michele also serves on the MISA committee as Education Coordinator.
