The MISP two-day intensive course is a very complete course with an internationally approved curriculum shared by all MISP Trainers.  This includes learning the unique MISP massage routine, child development, scientific knowledge, as well as the basis for bringing the idea of touch and movement for learning into all schools subjects.

With the two-day course every instructor receives a very comprehensive workbook that becomes a basic tool for the succcessful implementation of the programme.

Once the course has been completed successfully, the participant is given the MISP Instructor Certificate, allowing the implementation of the MISP programme within classrooms in the presence of children, and within communities with children and their parents.

Sandra Hooper

ProfileAs a qualified and experienced primary school teacher and massage therapist, Sandra Hooper has combined her experience and expertise in both fields to become first an instructor for the Massage in Schools Programme in 2004, and now, in 2006, a Trainer. With her experience of teaching in schools, Sandra brings an understanding of the challenges of introducing something new into an already full curriculum. With her experience as an independent massage therapist, she has developed skills and networks that she hopes will help new instructors take the MISP forward, whether they be teachers already in schools or health professionals wanting to introduce the MISP into schools, clubs and other extended school activities.



She has introduced the programme into a number of local schools across East and West Sussex and has showcased the MISP at Conferences and workshops across the South East. She is also working with Brighton and Hove Healthy Schools and Investors in Health in West Sussex to raise awareness of the MISP.



Sandra is currently the Treasurer of the MISA Committee for England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
